Ich wünschte, andere Label, besonders hierzulande, würden sich trauen, Cover wie dieses drucken zu lassen.

Da Criterion in dem Bereich aber nun nix mehr beweisen muß, merke ich mal an, daß ein Schrift-only Cover gerade für Außer Atem etwas verwunderlich ist, Godard wurde doch erst später radikaler mit Text-Integration. Insofern ist dass Cover fast radikaler als der Film selbst, es könnte jene potentielle Käufer vergraulen, die den Film aus Seeberg-Belmondo-romantischen Gründen mögen. Criterion hat sichtlich ein großen Vertrauen in die eigene Marke.

ich glaube eher: der film ist so ikonografisch, dass jedes bild daraus einen klischeehaften, sentimentalen charakter hätte. auch bei psycho oder casablanca würde niemals ein bild von norman bates oder rick blaine verwendet werden; jedenfalls von einem designer, der keinen kitsch produzieren will.
- das cover, wie es ist, empfinde ich nun auch nicht unbedingt als das schönstmögliche, aber es hat stil.

ich kenne den film noch nicht, aber so rein als "collage" finde ich das gans hübsch, ja. schöne farben.
